After Spring Break, we hit the ground running with reviewing, benchmarks, Field Day (which I plan), Relay for Life, and all the other little things you are trying to fit in at the end of the year.
With all the craziness, I always end up feeling a little sad this time of year. There's something about realizing your year is coming to an end that makes you want to hold on while at the same time you are counting down. I'm realizing that my sweet little rascals aren't so little anymore. They are ready to go which is great, but at the same time hard because I know some will move.
That sad moment only lasts for a second as I realize I have awards to get done, Dollar Tree superlatives to finish, parent gifts, teacher gifts (for the people that work with my kids), and lots of little memories to try to give my little munchkins.
Anyway, here are a few pictures from the last few weeks. By the way, I mentioned Field Day. Did I mention that Field Day and Relay for Life were on the same day this year! Let's just say, I got in 20,000 steps that day. It was a crazy fun day and we definitely made some memories.
Also, below are a few more pictures of the things coming up that you may want to use for your Awards Day, end of year gifts, or to send home to prevent your kiddos from forgetting all that you taught them. The book reports and labels are free.
If you want to use the tags that I put on the buckets or the list I sent home to my parents, just click on one of the images. It will take you to the file so you can download it.
I created these last year to prevent a summer slide for my kiddos. Since I finished first grade pretty quickly, I went ahead and created a kindergarten packet and a second grade packet. If you are curious about how they are set up, click on the grade level you are interested in and download the preview on TPT. It will show you how it is set up. Each packet also has a parent letter and reading log. All you have to do is print the packet front and back and it's ready to go. With it being the end of the school year, if you are like me, you don't have time for much more than that. There's too many memories to fit into your day. If you are tutoring this summer, you may also want to check out the packets. I know several people have commented that they are perfect to use when tutoring.
Alright y'all! Hope you have a great week! Thanks for being the best fans ever!
There is so much to do, but you inspire us and keep us going. =) Thanks for all the freebies.
ReplyDeleteThanks Melanie :) Hope you enjoy!
DeleteWhat? Field Day should be planned by the PE department...you'd better suggest that stat!
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing, Faith...just reading all this tired me out!
Girl, I'm good with it :) Our track meet is a few days before, so it's been easier for me to do it the last few years. Thanks for your sweet comment :) Promise, I'm tired too :) I've been taking a lot of naps on the weekend :)
DeleteDo you have a letter that you send home to the parents about the summer buckets? I'm not quite sure how I would approach asking them about this. Do they send in one item for each student? Or are all the buckets different with whatever items come in? Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteHey Tina!
DeleteI go ahead and mention it in my newsletter a few weeks prior. Then, I just write a note and ask parents if they don't mind if they will donate things for our buckets. I ask them to make sure they get enough for the number of students I have. I do make sure before I do this that I am okay with filling in gaps if I need to fill in gaps. Most of the time, the majority of parents don't mind sending in stuff. It isn't a requirement and I think because I don't ask for things often that they are okay with the buckets. I hope that makes sense.
Love these ideas thank you! Did you design the Relay shirt? That was our theme a couple of years ago but I would love one of the shirt's to wear! So perfect to wear during the school year on Relay days!

I love the idea of a summer bucket. I will definitely use this idea next year. What font did you use for the name tags? Thanks for your wonderful ideas .....
